According to Google - "A supplemental result is just like a regular web result, except that it's pulled from our supplemental index. We're able to place fewer restraints on sites that we crawl for this supplemental index than we do on sites that are crawled for our main index. For example, the number of parameters in a URL might exclude a site from being crawled for inclusion in our main index; however, it could still be crawled and added to our supplemental index."

Google, Yahoo & MSN Joing Hands For Sitemap

On November 16, Google, Yahoo and MSN have apparently joined hands over the issue of SITEMAP PROTOCOLS. Sitemaps have been used by Google in order to help the webmaster indexing their website pages. Earlier there were no such provisions made by the side of Yahoo and MSN but recently Yahoo has launched its beta version of Site Explorer which among the SEO community was being considered as something equivalent to Google Sitemap. Yahoo is still operating Site Explorer Beta version project and must to be mentioned it is working quite perfectly.


The three search engines which were considered as rival of each other has suddenly joined hands - is became an issue of news. There could be enormous business related reasons behind this but it is in the gossip that Yahoo and MSN were lacking behind in respect of indexing the web pages and thus has acknowledge that Google's sitemap protocol.
